At the height of the Apollo missions, NASA received almost 5% of the US Federal budget.
While getting people on the moon is certainly a feat, at this price, it isn’t really a sustainable exercise.
And so, since 1972, we haven’t been back up.
The focus here really though, is in this investment and preparation that was required in order to create the reality – in order to get to the moon.
Typically, while many of us have visions or dreams of areas in which we want to grow in life, often we lack the energy to follow through.
The rocket tips over before launch day.
The could be physiological energy of course – the breath and physiological nourishment, or it could be the ability to cultivate necessity and urgency.
The Apollo missions didn’t succeed on a whim. The upfront preparation was far greater in both time, human capital and magnitude than launch day.
If you’re finding it difficult to follow through on your visions, perhaps there are areas that can be addressed to generate the energy required to prepare yourself for the rigours of the path ahead.
The challenges with stepping into a new reality are immense. They can mean a change in identity – a stressor for sure.
Underestimating the preparation and grounding that’s required for this is easy to do, but thankfully these are areas that we can continue to develop.
