As I stand to write this, there’s an empty glass nearby.
The water filter is in the kitchen, and my desk is in the office.
The question is, who’s going to fill it?
When they’re empty, vessels like glasses, buckets etc, are pure potential. There’s only upside. The void in them is temporary, on one condition.
Someone needs to offer the refill.
Every day we walk around our communities – our workplace, online groups that we choose to join, the supermarket…
And all we have is potential. Space to create, to connect with someone, to reach out, to smile.
The hard part isn’t filling the glass, it’s remembering to nominate ourselves to be the ones to do the refill.
