Every Day is Easier

Once per week a yoga class, “spring” cleaning, a monthly email inbox zero session, a weekly newsletter…

If you are finding it difficult to stick to your targets, rather than relaxing the boundary, maybe you need to consider ramping the frequency right up.

It would seem that a monthly or weekly cycle would be an easy place to start with any kind of new habit or practice…

But as humans, the circadian rhythm is really the boss. Yes there are other cycles at play, but literally every aspect of our physiology is influenced by the daily cycle.

Often, this makes it a lot “easier” to introduce a specific practice at a particular time of the day. The sun goes up, we eat, we “do the thing,” and voila, we have a habit cue built right in.

We don’t have to listen to some calendar app reminding us that it’s the third Wednesday of the first month of the quarter, so therefore we need to write ten pages of our new book today…

We just do it a little bit. Every single day.

And yes, writing a blog daily is far easier than writing weekly.
