What does “Better” Look Like?

The other day I walked past Donut King in the Kotara shopping centre.

I saw an interesting sign – somehow, DK won an award for “Best Coffee in 2018” in the Golden Bean Awards…

I had to consider it, because I was certain that some of the small, sustainably sourced, single-origin coffee shops would certainly have made better coffee.

We run into this a lot. Of course, “best,” or “better” is relative.

So, when we reflect on our own journey, what does this path to “better” look like?

  • It can be done faster
  • There can be fewer errors
  • It can be stronger or more efficient
  • It can be cheaper
  • It can reach more people
  • It can impact the people you do reach more powerfully
  • It can have more art
  • It can change the way we feel

It’s important to identify what we are working towards, what is the context, and what is the intent.

We can’t extend in all directions at all times, and some directions simply aren’t worth travelling in.
