“Can you teach me to do a handstand?”
I used to hear this a lot as a gym owner. It’s an interesting one question – as it’s not actually clear what they mean.
See we can come at this question from two angles.
The first is technical – what program do I need, how do I learn the “kick-up,” how do I prepare my wrists for the load etc…
The other question is the underlying or unspoken part of the question – how do I become consistent enough in this? How do I cultivate the habit? How do I show up every day to do this for the 6-18 months?
Google is great for the technical side now.
The consistency, persistence and dedication is where the actual challenge lies. The mindset is where we find the hard part.
