Information Bias [Trap]

The action is clear:

Show up, put in the effort in a mindful, consistent manner.

Slowly learn, modify and implement lifestyle factors that are proven to be effective.

However, despite often knowing exactly what it is we need to do, we’ll often find ourselves down a deep, dark rabbit hole looking for more information.

The information bias is the tendency to seek information even when it cannot affect action.

The action is chosen, clear, or pre-determined, but we still keep seeking anyway.

This happens in the health industry perhaps more than many others (except perhaps financial markets)

Perhaps it makes us more comfortable, perhaps we might find that one golden nugget of information.

Or, perhaps it is the resistance stopping us once again from doing what we actually need to be doing to get where we want to go.
