Over-extension and then mean reversion is a pretty natural tendency.
We see it with fish in a school, birds in a flock, stocks in a market and humans in a culture.
A lot of times (like now), a reversion back to something a little more culturally “normal” feels right. A little bit of what we had before.
And I certainly look forward to a little more wide-ranging human interaction…
Other times though, it’s helpful to extend further out on the fringes.
What does it look like to push the boundaries even further?
In your work, your movement?
How does it look like to explore the edges, and do things even more differently.
Mean reversion is “normal” and it’s typically comfortable. But “you” aren’t the “mean.” So sometimes it’s out on the edge where we find our own groove.
