I pulled the trigger on a purchase today.
Work related – nothing too exciting, but the thing is, I first thought about buying this thing three months ago.
A three month decision.
In that time, the price didn’t change, my need didn’t go up or down, I just got closer to a self-imposed deadline for a project that could benefit from having the gear, so it was now or never.
When we delay a decision, we’re really deciding to not make a decision.
Putting something off is really a choice, whether we realise it or not. And often, it’s a choice that has an opportunity cost.
The best time to have pulled the trigger was three months back. At least I could have made the most of it between then and now… I guess the second best time was today.
What’s a decision that would be helpful for you to make now, rather than later?
