You’ll need an honest mate to help you answer these.
And, we have to “zoom out.”
First, picture (or write down) your goal, or vision.
For example –
Your client or revenue number, how your leadership looks, ways to feel more relaxed in your business, or what the business looks like.
The first question:
How much *energy* are you putting into your goal?
How much energy are you actually allocating?
How much time is set aside in the diary each week for this goal?
What actions have you taken?
The second question:
How *clear* are you around the goal?
How clear is your plan?
Is your messaging to clients complicated? Or crystal clear?
Does your dream client know exactly how you can help them, in a way that draws them in?
(ask your friend here for the feedback…)
We often go through four steps with this:
- Low clarity / low energy – we consume lots of information, but take little action in the desired direction.
- Low clarity / medium energy – we try lots of stuff, but with little direction. It’s pretty low reward, and tiring.
- Medium clarity / high energy – the borderline burnout stage. But, we’re now seeing some reward…
- High clarity / high energy – clear, consistent and persistent. Dream clients know how you help them, and you’re seeing the results.
While energy fuels the movement towards the goal, the clarity, or intent gives the direction that helps it actually happen. If you can reflect on where these are at, you can see the next step, or where you need to work.
