The Other Side of Do Your Best

Always do your best. One of the four agreements.

What is the other side of this? The prerequisite?

Awareness.

A cleaner for example can do their best, but still not notice marks left behind and never even know.

A painter can paint the wall and do their best, but leave uneven patches.

We can also do our best with nutrition, training or in business.

BUT

If we are simply “missing” what we are doing, usually through distraction, then are we really doing our best?

To do our best in our health journey (or any time), we need to commit to awareness and to being open to new possibilities. Only then can we see areas that we have “missed” or can new ideas come.

Being attentive to the moment, present to actual reality and not a phone or screen, opens the door for us to actually do our best.
