Saying Yes to Movement

In our work, there’s a lot of emphasis around the ability to say “no.”

It is a powerful skill, that allows us to focus on our task at hand, specialise, excel in our field and can protect us in a way.

With movement of the body, it’s kind of the opposite.

Rather than narrow the band down, we want to say “Yes.” We want to explore more options, expose areas that are neglected.

It doesn’t mean you can’t focus in an area you want to develop, BUT, see what happens when you step outside the box.

If you are a specialist in yoga, explore strength. If you love bodybuilding, explore movement and acrobatics. If you love running, explore dance.

If you don’t love any of it, simply say yes to anything.

With our profession, too much diversification can slow us down. With our bodies, diversification can give us adaptability and resilience.

Try saying yes and see what happens!
