The body, the mind, the spirit.
Each with an increasing level of awareness, connectivity and direction.
The body follows the mind, which is tricky, as it occasionally gets confused.
Spirit seems to sit in the background overseeing things, waiting for us to listen or look a little closer figure it out.
Sometimes there is conflict. We might have a night where it is more difficult to get to sleep. We can lie there, yet the whole collective can seem to be tense. Tension, frustration or fear.
Often it can be alleviated at the physiological level – changing how we eat and breathe, or changing stimulus prior to bed. But sometimes other exercises or ways of looking at things can help:
Here is one practice I’ve used before to settle things before sleep.
From my mind to my body: “Thank you Body, for the interaction you have with the physical world, the sensations you can perceive and the movement you provide. You can relax now, our job for the day is done. Thank you.”
Allow the entire body to relax.
From my spirit to my mind: “Thank you Mind, for the decisions you are able to make, the problems you have solved and the work you have done. Thank you for the ability to store the memories of today so that I can use them for good work tomorrow and beyond. You can relax now though, your job is done for the night. Thank you.”
Allow the mind to relax and lie down also.
From the Universe, or Source, to Me: “Thank you body, mind and spirit, for making up one amazing part of the whole. You have been and always will be an integral part of existence. You can rest now. Thank you.”
Allow everything to relax.
Often many people hold tension without even realising it. When we can learn to unwind this tension, often we can find the relaxation we were after.
