If you drive over a speed bump too quickly, it will destroy your car.
Or, at a minimum you’ll spill your cup of coffee.
When we face a difficulty in our work, our relationships, our even our training (say an injury), we are at the speed bump.
In conversation, this looks like a quick justification, or down-playing the matter.
In action, this looks like continuing business as usual, or bringing in a resource to help bridge the gap.
Ultimately though, when we refuse to slow down, feel, see and maybe even accept what’s happening right now, we are missing out on learning something about ourselves that we can take with us for life.
