Discomfort

In much of our current culture, there is status upgrade that is associated with embracing “discomfort.”

Overly long work weeks, multi-tasking, pushing through fatigue, ice baths, high-intensity/gruelling workouts, lack of sleep.

While it’s one thing to be able to have some resilience in the face of discomfort and move through resistance,

It’s something entirely different set this as the norm. To perpetually create a chronic state of tension by piling a bunch of this stuff on top of itself only slows you down in the long run.

Rather, in the context of the stressors of “modern living,” it can often pay to err on the side of a little bit of self-love.
