Often I fly in a little single engined Cessna Grand Caravan from Great Barrier Island to Auckland.
Fairly frequently, there can be turbulence – especially in the middle of the flight over Channel Island.
When the turbulence hits, we literally have no power. The change in relative air velocity over the wings can cause sudden drops or changes in the flight.
What can we do?
When we are powerless, paradoxically, we find opportunity.
We have the opportunity to create tension, stress and fear, or, we can notice the sensations.
When we “notice,” we find we are simply on a ride, ups, downs, twists, turns.
A lot of times things can get out of our control completely, and we end up as a powerless bystander.
In these cases, what we make of these situations is up to us.
