You can’t.
You can automate your emails, your blogs, your client on boarding processes…
You can use social media to keep up with friends and family…
You can even send a video of your dog to a friend in a message.
But you still aren’t coming close to the emotional effort that is required (and appreciated) in a face to face meeting.
Connection is connection, and while we can try to approximate and certainly make use of the technology that we have available, there is still a gap.
You can’t replace a simple phone call to check in and say hi.
You can’t replace jumping in the car or on a plane to go visit a friend, colleague or client face to face.
Knowing this, it’s then simply a question of how do we want to use automation now?
How can we use the technology to value-add, rather than strip?
