“If you are listening with all kinds of prejudices, that is a wrong way of listening; it is really a way of not listening. You appear to be listening, but you are only hearing not listening.” – OSHO
When we are going through turbulent times, often we just want to be heard.
But it’s more than this, it’s that we want to be seen.
To be seen, or acknowledged, means that we want someone to listen, not just to hear.
The difference sounds small, but it is immense.
One brings belief systems and conditioning in, one does not.
When we are with someone who is able to really listen – which is no small feat – then we can be in communion. From communion, we can communicate.
From here, we can both be understood, and look to understand.
As long as we are just hearing then the doors remain closed.
