When you are out of time, you’d better start taking action.
When you’re late to a meeting, behind on work, or when you run out of resources for your project, there’s no option except to innovate, to create urgency.
The other side of the coin though is moving from capacity. Because there is opportunity to take action.
This is an abundant state: self-created urgency because it’s effective, not because of scarcity.
In sparrows, it turns out that having the ability to innovate may be more powerful than having to innovate. It is likely the same with humans. As we move into an abundant state, our cognitive abilities improve. We make better decisions.
Given that almost all of us are in a position of relative abundance, the trick then is to cultivate the mindset – the “posture” of urgency, even though you could just sit there on the couch looking at Facebook.
