Save the Date

While there are a lot of clunky parts to a wedding, the “save the date” card is perfect.

Send a card out months in advance that gets stuck to the refrigerator announcing the date of the wedding.

Put a big, bold RSVP date on it.

Then, maybe then, we’ll pay attention.

The date is fixed. Something is happening on this date. It’s live, and, we better be there.

“Oh yeah! – it’s Jane and Phil’s wedding? Great, I’ll get my suit.”

The date goes in the diary.

It works.

In our projects or work, it’s exactly the same.

It doesn’t matter if you’re joining the gym, creating an eBook or launching a new website, it’s all a project. “What is the date that this goes out?”

When you give us a date, we can hold you to it. You’ve created an opportunity for impeccability.

Furthermore, we find all too often that when the date is “flexible,” it’s missed. And then there’s a rapid time decay on the necessity.

The narrative creeps in, and soon, we have another corpse of a hope and dream project that’s thrown on the pile.

If you want to get it done, set the date, stick to it, and then do the best job possible in this timeframe.

The date comes first.
