If we are completely “in” the culture, we can run 24/7. We can get caught up, burnt out and generally beaten down.
When we are completely “out” of the culture, we go troppo. Or we sit on a mountain somewhere in open expansiveness. Feels nice, but tricky if we’d like to get something done.
One foot in, one foot out means to observe the culture, to enjoy the culture, to do business with the culture, but to return to our centre.
It means to create space, to stand alone sometimes, to come back to our own breath and our physical body.
From here, we can not only reset physically and physiologically, but we can see the beauty and creativity of it all, from a slightly different perspective.
