In rally car racing, there’s a co-driver.
Their role is read a course map, and call out a few turns ahead what is coming up. If you haven’t seen this before, it’s well worth a watch.
Every once in a while, it’s worth zooming out with our own journeys and looking ahead. This could be in our movement, a personal relationship or our work.
Where have we come from?
How do we want to go into the next corner?
Are there things we might do differently?
What is working well right now?
What is not working well right now?
Where can we innovate, possibly even if it’s still working?
Are there things we should skip entirely?
While the head down, full throttle position feels rewarding, it’s fairly useless if it goes too far in the wrong direction.
Having a co-driver for the day here can be a great way to get some extra eyes on what is happening.
