Hyper Positivity

Hyper positive feedback is disproportionately used.

While it’s nice to receive this kind of praise from your Auntie Mary, if you’re trying to create great work, it really doesn’t help that much at all.

Real feedback on the other hand can amplify our work. This is generous. Real feedback encourages us to go further in our work, to think deeper and to be challenged.

Recognising the work is important, and kindness is key, but over-the-top positivity thrown left, right and centre rarely helps to actually create better work.
