The other day I was in conversation with someone about the importance of a good staff meeting.
I was sharing that I felt a key aspect of a good meeting in a small business is that it brings people together.
It maintains communion. And from here, we can do great work.
He was interested in the concept, so I mentioned I could forward an old blog post I wrote about the topic, if he liked.
Anyway, I dug it up, and re-read it.
It was terrible.
The intent was there, but the post wasn’t clear. It was a little embarrassing to send actually.
I realised that the only way I could avoid this embarrassment, is to never write again.
The kind of faux-vulnerability-over-shares to bring about a phoney level of embarrassment for the sake of engagement is a waste of time.
But the inevitable pockets of embarrassment that you’re certainly going to face when you share your work is probably worthwhile.
