Nervousness

We don’t get nervous when we do something for the 50th time.

It’s usually when it’s something new.

So what does it mean?

Well, when we take part in something new, it’s by default a transformation towards a new identity.

Whether it works out or not, it’s seen a change.

Nervousness means that a part of who we are right now is threatened by a part of who we might become.

The new version wants to emerge, and the old version is afraid of the disruption that this will bring.

Change is inevitably anyway. So if we can be OK with letting go of the old, and inviting the new, what reason do we have to be nervous?
