There’s a lot of interest in habit development.
21 days, 67 days… These are different time frames we need to develop habits according to different sources.
And rightfully so.
It turns out that habits run a lot of our daily life. I’ve even written about habit development in a few posts. Here’s one from early 2018.
But what about the other side? What about non-habitual development?
Whether it’s in our business, our relationship, or our culture, the power in non-habit development is immense. It’s also incredibly difficult, as there’s more effort in non-habitual work.
Alertness, openness, responsibility, accountability, listening, intent, feeling, love. While we can certainly build practices around these, they are all non-habit based.
While there’s certainly a power in habit development, as a culture (and as an individual!), there’s definitely a power in non-habit development, as we move forward.
