Something a lot of people feel:
How do we release the work to the world if we’re not sure it’s ready?
How do we launch the event if we aren’t sure how it’s going to go?
Sure, when we think about it, the question is full of holes (perfection doesn’t exist, the “start” has to happen before we can improve, etc), but still, it keeps coming up.
One option is to avoid trying to use logic altogether. To see the question as an example of how fear can get in the way. Fear of a damaged reputation, fear of nobody noticing, fear of everybody noticing…
Questions that are coming from fear, or resistance, rarely make sense intellectually. It’s not often helpful for someone to point out to us that our fear makes no sense.
Ultimately, it’s up to us to see the narrative, recognise the fear, and take the smallest viable step forward into it. When we see that everything is OK, we start to accumulate proof that we might just survive.
Whew.
Over time, this signal and response becomes easier. Even if the resistance doesn’t go away, we start to trust a process that we put into action when we see the question.
