Sounds similar, and, often an overlap.
To curate is to organise or oversee, or to manage. We “curate” an art exhibit.
To create is to be artistic and imaginative. To help realise a vision.
When we curate something, we’re dealing with someone else’s creative efforts. Like a broker, we pick and choose, and organise it into one place. There’s some value in this, as it’s more convenient for the viewer and helps create the experience.
When we create something, we’re stepping into a void. We don’t know if it’ll work. We’re working at the base level. While this takes a lot of energy, and any one particular creation might suck, it’s the creating that really helps us move forward.
Create if you can.
But if you’re stuck, curating can help get the juices flowing.
Either can help us move forward.
