How to “sell” through a transfer of emotion

“Double espresso, one sugar” I asked

“Do you like fermentation in the drying process?”

I had no idea what Rich was talking about.

He showed me a card filled with info, and explained how it’s something to do with the bean drying process.

Rich knows I really love coffee. And I could feel how lit up he was about this idea. So, even with zero understanding, I was a buyer.

Because selling is a transfer of emotion. But to transfer emotion, first you need to have it. You need to sit alongside your dream client, and feel what it would be like to be where they’re at. And then feel what it would be like after getting your solution. Then communicate it.

When done with integrity, sales and marketing is empathy and emotion.
